Dr James Hollis

James joined as a partner in 2014, having spent four years in emergency medicine before retraining. That background shows in how he triages: he is quick to recognise the small number of presentations that genuinely cannot wait, and calm about the much larger number that can.

He runs the practice’s minor surgery list at Riverside — skin lesions, ingrowing toenails, joint injections — and is the person the rest of the team asks about a chest that does not sound quite right.

He is also our most committed de-prescriber, and will cheerfully review a repeat list that has not been looked at properly in a decade.
